In this demo, we’ll showcase how EtherCAT technology enables precise multi-axis motion control and synchronized high-speed rotation. Let’s start with the highlights. The demo box features two high-speed motors that rotate synchronously, with a pencil lead placed between them that remains unbroken. This precise synchronization is achieved through the real-time capabilities of EtherCAT, which offers a cycle time of up to 500 microsecond, ensuring high-speed and accurate multi-axis control. The control architecture of this demo box is built around the AMAX compact automation controller, paired with AMAX-5000 series I/O expansion modules. The system also includes the WOP-200K series operator panel for HMI display. This design provides excellent scalability and flexibility, allowing for easy expansion with various digital/analog I/O modules, encoders/counters, and communication interfaces.
